The book provides an overview of the establishment of the folk art association “UKU”, which operated from 1966 to 1994, and its growth into an enterprise that brought together thousands of craftspeople. The company brought together people who loved handicrafts and folk art masters from all over Estonia. “UKU”’s product range included hand-knitted and crocheted sweaters, gloves, shawls, metal jewellery, pottery, wrought ironwork, baskets, and much more. The book’s photographic material comes from the “UKU” collection of the Estonian National Museum. The publication complements the exhibition of the same name at the ERM Heimtali Museum.
