2026 marks ten years since the Estonian National Museum opened its new home in Raadi. ERMX brings together our most important events and initiatives for this occasion.

What is ERMX?
ERMX is a special programme of the Estonian National Museum marking ten years since the opening of our new home in Raadi. Through it, we are opening up new ways to take part in the museum, explore, reflect, and create together. Throughout the year, it brings together international exhibitions, new initiatives for young people and families, and stories of the people who have helped shape ERM into what it is today.

OPENING ON 24 JULY
Exhibition: Monster Chetwynd
We invite everyone to step into the imaginative universe created by world-renowned British artist Monster Chetwynd. Now coming to Tartu after a successful run at Copenhagen Contemporary, this is the very first showing of the famed British artist’s work in the Baltic region.

Museum Innovation Lab
The Museum Innovation Lab is an experimental and dynamic initiative through which we seek new perspectives and possibilities in how the museum operates. The lab will begin developing new approaches that help the museum relate more effectively to society’s changing expectations and strengthen its connection with audiences.

RESIDENTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT THE END OF MAY
International Residency
Four residents will dive deep into the photo archive of the Estonian National Museum to put together an exploratory joint exhibition.

What makes a house a home? The people.
In the coming months, we will share stories about the people of ERM and the building itself through the voices of curators, researchers, guides, and many others who shape the museum every day. We will go behind the scenes and ask: what makes people stay here for decades?
