A new tribute to the Liphart legacy in Raadi

The Estonian National Museum had the honour of welcoming Darriane Taberer, a descendant of the former owners of Raadi Manor, the von Liphart family, together with her wife. The Taberer family’s connection to Raadi traces back to Sophie von Liphart and August Wilhelmj.

During the visit, a newly planted oak tree in the ERM park was ceremonially dedicated and named “The Liphart Oak”. The oak tree is devoted to the memory of the von Liphart family and serves as a reminder of the historical heritage of Raadi Manor.

„The Liphart Oak“
Planted in memory of the Liphart family,
former lords of Raadi Manor,
and in honour of David Sadler,
a descendant of August Wilhelmj and Sophie von Liphart.

The von Liphart family played an important role in the development of Raadi Manor and its surroundings. From 1751 until the expropriation of the estate in 1919, the manor belonged to the noble von Liphart family. During their ownership, Raadi Manor became one of the most significant centres of art and culture in the Baltic region, and its legacy continues to live on in the present-day home of the Estonian National Museum. The Liphart Oak will now stand as a symbol of this connection.
